Thursday Trail Run

Trail running is catching on in the Mansfield Running Club. Too Awesome. Some of the runners have decided to meet every other Thursday evening for a trail run and a few are considering some ultra trail races too. Above is Joe who ran his first 50K at Forget the PR this past spring and he is signed up to do Burning River in a few weeks. Next we have the RD of Forget the PR Rob who couldn't resist getting to walk the trails at Mohican for his back surgery recovery/training. He gets to start throwing in some running next week and can't wait.
Wayne, Joy, Kay and myself were out to put in trail miles as well.

We decided on a section of the Forget the PR course, covered bridge to fire tower then on to bike path/red loop back. It's about 6 miles or more. Joe started off like lightening and I just wasn't feeling it to stay up and Joy was right behind me so I let her go ahead. I waited up for Kay and Wayne who were doing 4min. running/1min. walking because Wayne is just coming back from injury.
It was actually refreshing to do the run/walk thing. We had a good time chatting. I waited up for them also to make sure they knew which way to go after fire tower but I messed that up and we missed the turn off. I still want to blame Wayne though. LOL

When we got back Chip and Brad were there talking with Rob. They missed our start but went out and got 4 miles in on some trails. Chip who is in the middle of 5K racing is going to try a 50K in September, YUT-C 50K.
The trail bug and ultra running is catching on around here. Too cool.
Chip and Brad above. Below is Joe who I made slow the heck down for a picture.
