The Screw It!!! Combination...But I Didn't
Getting up and on the streets running at 4:45am is one part of it but I can handle that. My friend Leslie and I have a standing 7 or 8 miler every Tuesday morning. Add in 45 degree pouring down rain is part two...add nasty wind (part three) and it is very easy to say Screw it! I am staying in bed. But I didn't. :)
What kind of ultra runner would I be anyway? Not running at ungodly hours in terrible weather for a measly 7 miles. Geeesh... I need to run an ultra soon before I become a big baby. LOL
Looking at Lovin' The Hills 50K down in Kentucky in February, not too far of drive. Suppose to be pretty tough. Hmmmmmm....... My longest run since last September has been 13 miles. Uh oh

Sunday Club Run

Crazy clowns running
I need to start putting in longer miles soon and on the trails. For now though running with my friend Leslie or with some of the guys at club...I am really getting quality miles done. Leslie keeps me pushing early Tuesday mornings and Saturdays. Matt, Heath, Kelly, Rick and Mike know how to make 10 to 12 miles hurt, lol. Note to self...the Matt and Heath matchup means Michelle is going to run faster than ready for, suffer and try to keep in the conversation while they chat like they are on a jog. But...I am getting there :)

Almost time to get serious again

Haven't been putting in many miles...but the miles I am doing are quality thanks to my friend Leslie and other running club members like Matt Endicott who really knows how to push our pace. I have only been on the roads and treadmill the last 3 months. My body is going to need some time to re-adjust when I finally get back to the trails but no plans right now. Even though I don't care for the roads...my speed is improving. I have a quality half marathon distance going right now.
Great friends below Leslie and Kay.

Hair Of The Dog 2011

Oh my ... 7 miles of fun. Today was the annual Hair of The Dog Run with my running club. Such a good time! This year we did a shot of ? before we started, I have no idea what is was but at 8am on a Sunday morning does it really matter?
a>
Off we went around 40 or so of us...about a mile and a half into it was the first stop. There was Homemade Christmas ale 7.8% alcohol and 3 different types of pudding shots, cheesecake, oreo and I think vanilla?. I had a cheesecake and two Christmas ales. Yum!
Next stop a couple miles later... we were greeted with trays of jello shots, tequila, vodka and damn I can't remember what the pudding was but it was creamy and good! I know I had 3 or 4 shots there. LOL

Last stop around 6 miles...the guy had something creamy in chocolate shot cups. At this point didn't matter what it was, I was a drinking it. :)

Then on we went back to our host Rich's house for food and "spirits". I had a mimosa, more jello and pudding shots and then got to sampling a few other liquors that Rich insisted on me trying. The root beer schnapps was awesome.

They also gave out awards to runners who took part in their series. It was hilarious...they gave out dog tags and thong underwear with a dog's face on it.
It was great fun! Thanks Rich and Dave for an unforgettable event. Also a big thanks to Rich for taking me aside to drop his pants and model the thong. I will get you back for that! LOL
